The Challenge & Design Approach

JYD Group sought to create a brand identity that reflects both the luxurious and professional nature of the business while maintaining an approachable yet sophisticated visual language. The challenge was to develop an identity that not only conveyed trust, stability, and quality but also spoke to the personal commitment Jinny Yang has towards high-end, bespoke property development. Additionally, the branding needed to blend professionalism with a touch of femininity, highlighting the personal leadership of a female entrepreneur in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

To achieve this, I focused on a refined, elegant aesthetic with clean lines and modern sensibilities. The design needed to feel contemporary, yet timeless, capturing the high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines JYD Group. The logo incorporates abstract architectural elements and subtly integrates the letters ‘J’, ‘Y’, and ‘D’, enhancing the brand’s connection to Jinny Yang while also symbolising the collaboration and sustainability inherent in their work. This was combined with a colour palette that included deep navy blue, symbolising trust and professionalism, complemented by cream and champagne tones, evoking luxury and femininity.

In terms of typography, I chose a balance of serif and sans-serif fonts, providing a modern yet elegant feel to the brand. The serif font reflects the luxury and tradition behind JYD Group, while the sans-serif fonts lend a modern, clean touch that makes the brand feel forward-thinking. This combination ensures the brand looks both professional and welcoming.
